CBC Servant Teams
We're pushing you to grow deeper. We're trying to make "just attending" church impossible - because in the end, there has to be more than just attendance. Salvation starts with understanding the Gospel...BUT there's a process of sanctification (growth). And membership has to be more difficult than just sitting there and taking and taking and taking. So we're asking all of you who are a part of CBC Youth to particpate. We're going to challenge you harder than you're comfortable with. We're going to ask you that you study, to serve, to get on your knees and pray your guts out.
Who Can Join?
We invite anyone to join this team...however, there are expectations that we ask of you. The main one is that you know and have a consistent walk with Jesus. The reason why is because if you don't have this relationship, this whole leadership thing becomes a self-serving, friend-connecting organization (and those aren't bad...but it's not the purpose). But we open this to whoever has the desire to join (6th - 12th grade). If you are a baby Christian or some savvy verteran...it's alright. Jesus chose some of each group to be his disciples.
Who We Are NOT
We are not a secret society. We do not have special underwear that we wear and do not have a cool handshake. We are not better than people not on servant team. We do not boast our level of spirituality over anyone else...but we do so in humility and service.
What We Do
At the end of the day, our job is to study and minister more than anything else. The reason why is all opinions...and that'll kill everyone. But we balance studying with living it out day in and day out. We spend our time together in meetings studying and brainstorming together. We'll organize events during the year and serve them as best we can.
What To Expect
Expect to study - we give out assigned readings and we ask that you be responsible to study and learn. Expect to attend a couple of meetings per month - whether servant team meetings or prayers meetings. Our meetings take anywhere from an hour to three hours. We ask that you attend our events to show that you're in this too. Lastly, we expect you to live our 7 core values day in and day out. Why? Because it's more about your joy and depth of life.
Where Do I Get Stuff?
