picAt Chinese Baptist Church, I have been attending Sunday school and on Friday nights we have a fun bible study clubs such as AWANA and Access. I attended and graduated from AWANA and now I am in Access for middle school kids. When I was in AWANA, I learned a lot about God’s words and what He means to me. At that time, I was learning bible verses every week and wanted to know more about Jesus Christ. Just learning and knowing what God does for me made me feel lonely without Him. I started thinking about becoming a Christian this summer at our Vacation Bible School. After talking with my youth director, Ben Pun and my Sunday school teacher, it made me think about my life with Christ. Ben had given me a sheet about “The Gospel In a Nutshell” and I read it and made me think about my life with Christ.

I felt that I needed to become a Christian to have a better life and a relationship with Christ. Before Christ, I felt worried and nervous that no one was with me by my side during troubles and problems. Hearing and going to church made me feel that something was left out in my life and that was Jesus Christ. I want to have eternal life with Jesus Christ. I also want to follow and do what God wants me to do. After going to Vacation Bible School and learning about the ABC’s of Salvation, it made me think that I needed to become a Christian.

On August 23, 2006, I had asked Jesus Christ to be my Personal Savior and to live in my heart. I had Admitted to God that I am a sinner. I Believe that Jesus is God’s only son and had died on the Cross for my sins. I Confessed my faith in Jesus as my Savior and Lord. After I prayed I felt that God heard my prayers and He accepted me as one of His followers. I felt very happy and excited that God is now with me and will always be with me. He is living inside of me in my heart! Knowing He is my Personal Savior it made me feel like a new person! I feel that I can always talk to Him anytime when I am having trouble or problems. I told my parents that evening that I prayed to God to ask Him to be my Personal Savior, they were very happy and thankful too. Having Jesus Christ in my life is a wonderful feeling. Also knowing that one day when I die I will be up in heaven with Him and my family. I will have an eternal life with Jesus Christ.

My life has changed by having Christ living in my heart by having better attitudes to others and doing good deeds. I have been reading God’s word more that I have don’t before. My life is different inside knowing that Christ lives with me and in my heart. Since I am a Christian now, I see and act differently to others; I am trying to show more kindness, love, and responsibility to others and especially my family. God is always with me wherever I go, I can always talk to Him and He will listen. Knowing that God died on the cross for my sins made me feel very sad for what He did for us. But He rose from the dead and is alive now and forever. I can always talk and trust God when I am in trouble or in need of help.

I would help someone to become a Christian by inviting them to come to our cool church and tell him or her good news about Jesus Christ. I would tell them or her that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and he had paid the price for us and now Jesus is alive a living today. I would also give a friend a bible to red and learn more about Christ.

I would like to thank some people for helping me along the way in knowing Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and they are, Mrs. Mary Yee and Mr. Davy Chin which are my Christian Growth teachers, next are Mr. Johnson Leo, Mr. Patrick Kwan which were my leaders in AWANA, all of my Sunday School teachers and lastly, Mr. Ben Pun our Youth Director. Thank you the all that have impacted my life in becoming a Christian. Lastly, to my parents, with their love and support. Jesus Loves ME!

I went to church when I was a baby; I attended worship services and met some new friends at my old church, Asian American Baptist Church (AABC) before I became a Christian. My whole family grew up going to church. While I was at church, learning and knowing God was a big topic for me. With the lessons of life and God, it made me feel lonely without him in my life.
